05/06/2020 HalfPenny Green Golf Course 3 ball rule

England Golf has today confirmed that threeball and fourball play can re-commence from Monday 1 June.
We will implement our strict 3 ball rule from Monday 8th June 2020.

England Golf has today confirmed that threeball and fourball play can re-commence from Monday 1 June.
However based on our experience over the last 2 weeks, we believe the potential volume of people presents a safety risk so we will not be adopting the new guidelines and will retain our strict 2 ball rules.

11/05/20 Halfpenny Green Golf Course Phased Reopening

We have received significant enquiries on our reopening plans and will now initiate a phased reopening from this Wednesday 13th May. However, we will not sacrifice the safety of our members or staff and therefore new guidelines have been put into place.

This statement will outline the preparation and precautions that the club management are taking to ensure that players Halfpenny Green can safely return to the course.
These guidelines have been developed with the health and safety of players and staff as this guiding principle. It is likely that these guidelines will be updated as and when government guidance is updated.
For the safe re-opening of our course the following guidelines will be implemented:

  • Only players who have pre-booked via phone on 01902 326682 or email on info@halfpennygreen.com and are scheduled to play will be permitted to play or enter the club premises. Bookings made via other platforms cannot be guaranteed.

  • Tee off times from 8.00 -19.00 for 10 minute intervals, only 9 holes will be allowed per group

  • All customers to bring and wear their own protective gloves and face masks

  • Payment for your game will be taken at the clubhouse entrance

  • Payments via card or cash

  • Trolley/buggy hire will only be available to clients who medically need assistance

  • There will be no hire of golf equipment will be provided please bring your own

  • Bunkers will be in play however, customers must clean any footprints with their own clubs no rakes will be left

  • Balls washers and shoe cleaners will not be in use

  • Driving range will be open but limited. There is no booking needed however, visitors will need to clean basket handles with wipes or disinfectant.

  • Putting/pitching green will be available for golfers waiting to tee off no more than 4 people at anyone time no flag pins left in

  • Hot/cold drinks and snacks will be available only takeout service

  • Green/Golf staff will have priorities at all times

  • Play will be restricted to 2 balls as the maximum players in any single group

  • Upon arrival by car always leave a free space between you and the next car for easier social distancing and safety

  • In line with current government instruction and social distancing the clubhouse will initially remain shut, we therefore ask all members to arrive no sooner than 10 minutes before your tee time and change their shoes/attire in the club car park

  • As the clubhouse will be closed this also means that the gym, coffee shop and toilets will not be in operation

  • Pace of play should be maintained to ensure a 10 minute gap between your play and players either ahead or behind, apply ready golf to maintain pace and repair only your pitch marks.

  • Holes cups will be turned upside down with flag pins in. Please do not touch flag pins

  • Golfers should leave the golf club premises as soon as your game is completed

  • Do not sign or exchange score cards

  • During the phased reopening, aside from the monthly £150 membership, no special offers will be valid

  • Anyone not following guidelines will be asked to leave and no refund will be given

Over time the full services provided by Halfpenny Green Golf Course will resume. However, it must be noted that there may be certain restrictions in place for some time, such as social distancing. It is our aim to ensure you have the best possible time at our course whilst following government guidelines and a high level of safety.Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you back safely.

Coronavirus / COVID-19

Amongst everything that’s been happening we have decided to close all facilities at Halfpenny Green Golf Club.

Over the past few weeks, we have taken strict precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. We would never jeopardise anyone’s health no matter how much it would cost us. At present there is a high level of uncertainty regarding COVID-19 pandemic therefore we do not know when we will reopen. We will keep everyone informed by our social media platforms. The situation is unprecedented, and amongst everything that is happening, we would like to thank everyone for all their continued support. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves.

Following the government’s announcement earlier today & to protect the health of our customers, we will be temporarily closing Halfpenny Green from the 20th March. We will be monitoring developments very closely and will maintain communication as appropriate.
The health, safety, and welfare of our customers, employees and visitors is paramount and we take our duty of care seriously.
The following actions have already been taken:

The provision of anti-bacterial soap in our WCs
The provision of anti-bacterial hand rub to our customers
The provision of anti-bacterial hand rub to our employees
Covid-19 awareness given to employees
Regular cleaning including hourly on high contact surfaces such as door handles
No large gatherings or functions

We will continue to follow the advice provided by HM Government, which at the time of writing, does not stop us from opening.
